Every time I visit one of the Disney Theme Parks I usually find myself in a state of awe at some point during the trip. Weather it’s over how quickly they get the Holiday decorations put in place so quickly or at just how much detail goes into the attractions, the same thought comes to mind. How cool of a job is “Imagineer”! I wish had the talent to be able to be part of the amazing teams that design and build our favorite rides or iconic scenery. Well, although I am pretty sure I’ll never be an Imagineer, I may have found a way to channel my inner Imagineer and work on something that is nearly synonymous with Disney!
The Lego® Disney Castle is so much more than the sets I grew up with. It brings the magical world of Disney right into my home. The level of detail in this amazing set is on par with what you see in the parks. It’s exciting to build and once I started I did not want to stop until all 4000 pieces were in place. I visualized myself as an Imagineer constructing a mock-up to show to Walt himself. I know he’d love the many intricacies found on the facade and towers. The rooms of the Castle pay homage to some of Disney’s greatest animated feature films, each with the ability bring out that favorite Disney moment that keeps us fans drawn to Disney for life.
By far my favorite feature of this set is that it comes with a Tinker Bell minifigure, so you’re set to recreate the nightly fireworks show. There are four other figures too including Mickey & Minne and Donald & Daisy. It’s the detail that makes Disney stand-out and what I search for in any themed merchandise. This set is a home run on that front and could serve as a wonderful show piece or something you build over and over again with your kids. It’s the essence of Disney in a box. It’s well worth the price and it’s sure to bring a smile to your face. For me, any serious Disney fan needs this set.
